    Default Crescent Rolls

    Crescent Rolls

    Recipe Description
These are like the crescent rolls you buy in the tube. My family insists that they taste better.
    Preparation Steps:Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
Including rising time - 2-1/2 hours
    Ingredients:
1 pkg yeast (or 1 tbsp)
    1/2 cup warm water
    1 tbsp+1/2 cup sugar
    3/4 cup warm milk
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 cup butter/marg softened
    1 tsp salt
    5 to 5-1/2 cups flour
    Serves:Directions:
    1. Combine yeast and water. Stir until yeast is dissolved. Add 1 tbsp sugar. Let stand 5 minutes
    2. Add milk, eggs, butter, salt and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir until blended. Add 5 cups flour until smooth and elastic
    3. Oil bowl, knead dough for 6-8 min. Shape into ball turn to make oil on outside. Cover, let rise 1-1/2 hours.
    4. Grease 2 baking sheets. Punch down dough, divide into thirds. One at a time roll dough into 12 inch diameter circle. Cut the circle like a pizza (8 pieces). Brush wedges with melted butter. Starting at wide end, roll up.
    5. Place on baing sheet 2 inches apart, bend wedge to a crescent. Do same with all 3 balls of dough.
    6. Cover with cloth for 30 minutes (until double in size)
    7. Preheat oven 375 degrees. Bake 10-12 minutes

These sound good. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. It is perfect since I'm doing well with my bread making skills, I can practice more with this recipe. When my daughter comes home from college I'm going to make these for her. She loves crescent rolls!

Thanks Debbie..I'll have to try these. Pillsbury products always seem to have this odd, off taste to me, so these will be much better, I'm sure!
