Default Garden Herb Bread - bread machine recipe

Garden Herb Bread - bread machine recipe

    Recipe Description
Wonderful fragrance exceeded only by the extraordinary flavour!! Your house will smell like turkey stuffing, and the bread is GREAT for sandwiches or to dry for croutons.
    Preparation Steps:
Use flaked herbs, not ground. If using fresh herbs, double the amt. Any variety of herbs can be used, but those listed are SO GOOD!!!

Can be made as traditional bread, as well, or started in machine, then baked in oven.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
    4-5 hours with rising/baking time
    Ingredients:
    1 1/8 c. water
    2 T. butter
    3 c. white bread flour
    2 T. dry milk
    2 T. sugar
    1 1/2 t. salt
    2 t. chives
    2 t. marjoram
    2 t. thyme
    1 t. basil
    2 t. active dry yeast
    Serves:
    1 lb of bread
    Directions:
Put water and butter in machine.

Mix all dry ingredients (except yeast) together. Add to machine.

Make a small well in dry ingredients - add yeast to well.

    Start machine!

If you want to make mini-loaves, let machine do the kneading and rising, then remove dough and make as many mini-loaves as you'd like. (I make 8 loaves.) Bake at 350F for approx 20-25 min.
