Talking My precious kids are making Christmas gifts

We usually give the 2 oldest of our youngest kids some money to buy Christmas gifts for us at Christmas, but this year the finances dictate that we can't spare the cash.

So were having a pioneer Christmas and here is what they are making:

    - Ds#1 (autistic) has scroll sawed something for me and is scroll sawing a western picture for his dad.

    - Dd (microcephalic) has scroll sawed something for me and has made her dad 2 hankies from flannelette that I had here and knitted her dad a scarf. Now the scarf if very long and sorta small at the bottom but has grown wide all the way up. She has done it in burgundies, browns, greens and blues and actually is really is pretty neat, considering she has just learnt to knit.

I can hardly wait to see what they made for me and I'm so very proud of them for tackling this. Dd didn't have a problem in the least because she truly is our homesteading/pioneer girl but ds, well he kept saying "theres a whole month left". He is a bit slower to catch on to things, but once he seen his sister almost completed with hers, he decided he had better do it.

I truly am proud of these kids!!

How sweet I really think that homemade gifts, especially when made by children, are the best!

That is wonderful CJ! I love receiving homemade gifts. My DS#2 decided on his own to make presents for all of us too. He is making pillows with our favorite sports teams sewn on them. He is doing this all on his own. Now, I just wish the other 2 would catch on.

I think that is so sweet, hope you can post pictures of your treasures. HUGS BTW we have NEVER given our children money to buy us gifts. They can earn a buck or so..........but they always are so tight with their money they have some to use. lol
We do take them by the dollar store to buy their gifts, works out great for us. But I am thinking that homemade would be fun...
