The Boxcar Children
Our ds#1 has been reading for a number of years now and has read all the Boxcar Children series. He has always enjoyed them and often our dd has wanted to read them but never could. Reading to her has been very difficult to say the least.
This year, her reading has jumped leaps and bounds and on Friday, she picked out a Boxcar Children book at the library. I was a little hesitant because I wondered if she would be disappointed if she couldn't read it or how long it would take her to read it.
She brought the book down this morning, she had read it all.
A major breakthrough for her and a realization for me once again, that our special children can accomplish all they set out to do and then some.
Celebrate with me okay!!

We love the Boxcar Children series! Another great series are the Junie B. Jones books, especially for 5-8 year old girls.

Good for her. My dd has a tough time reading too. Another series that is good and fairly easy to read is the Pony Pals. Dd read them all when she was in 2nd and 3rd grade.
Good luck and happy reading to your dd.

Yea for her!! My son also really likes the Boxcar Children and another author he LOVES is Beverly Lewis. She does the Cul-de-Sac kids. It's a really great series too.
