Talking Don't laugh - what do I do now

Ds#2 has Down syndrome and hates to have anything touch his face and particularly near his mouth.

Don't laugh but he is now growing a mustache and I don't have a clue has to what to do about it.

    Can anyone help with suggestions??

How old is he? Maybe he might like it. If he is too young to have this can you talk to him about it and maybe you could show him how to shave. Just a thought. I worked with down syndrome children in high school and many were able to care for themselves (hygiene, eating, etc. some were not able to). Good luck and can't wait to hear how it turns out. Can you believe your little boy is growing up???

How did you potty train? Does he learn best through watching or doing? Who does he look up to? If dad is his hero he might learn from dad. Use your imagination, there is also a Magic Valley curriculum for all hygiene skills, if you want me to look it up I'll be happy to.

Does he have any famous heroes that have mustaches? Maybe you could show him how dashing and debonair he will be with a new look.

Kelli - don't even talk about potty training. It still isn't completely successful. He loves the "control" he has over us in that area.

I'm thinking I just might get him an electric razor and get dh to show him how to use it. Even if he misses some whiskers (there is just a hint there right now), he won't cut himself.
