Do you get respite for yourself?
In our province, we are allowed so many hours of respite. Although we haven't used it in a long time (because of the difficulties trying to find a good babysitter) do you use some form of respite to give you a break?

Ummmm I'm not exactly sure what it is...? I would think you mean a break or a short vacation?

it is when a child support team pays for you to take abreak from being constant caregiver for your child. they pay for the sitter and once a month we could for a weekend at a motel (that was donated) just so you can be out and feel free of the stress. or once a week or so they would pay for some one to watch him for a couple of hours just so the parents could spend some time alone without the child. hope this is clear. My mind isn't working at par this morning.

Early Headstart offers it here at their center if I need to grocery shop or have a drs appt, special ed meeting or seminar, or a board meeting etc. I can also apply for "financial" respite funding, but have not as of yet. I plan to soon, as Gabe and I desperately need a break occasionally.
