Son had PT and music Evaluation
I guess with PT evaluation they decided he doesn't need physical therapy. (this is a good thing) He does have one hamstring that is tighter, but I can work on this at home. (placing shoes on opposite feet and exercises) I am still a bit concerned and will bring up at the IEP the tip toe walking. Although, it's not as bad as it once was, I still see it occasionally and am concerned. I do think this can be handled through OT though. (he has sensory issues)
Music evaluation didn't go well. He was shy and stubborn, so of course didn't respond well to the assessment. This music therapist goes into the classrom once a week for half an hour. We decided she will continue to watch him in group setting (class) and see if he shows more vocal intent as a result of music. If there is progress, we can reissue an IEP and increase music time for him. Basically, that's fine with me. I just want to know if she does anything that encourages his intent to speak, then I want a consult so I can do more at home.
Our IEP is Tuesday. I am excited to see where Zachary will be placed as far as classrooms. He'll be going daily for 2.5 hrs and I am thrilled.
Will update Tuesday.

Sara, thanks for the update. It looks like Zachray is doing well and will have all the programs in place come the school year. Don't feel bad about the music evaluation. Our ds was exactly like that when he had evaluations. Its different for them and you know how our kids don't like change.
I'm glad she will be watching him in a group setting.
Great job mom!!! Look forward to hearing what happens on Tuesday.

Sara I'm glad that you are feeling really good about it. It's always a good start to be feeling like you're doing something, no matter what the challenge is. I think it's how most of us girls cope with everything, we start looking for and finding the solutions and remedies. Hang in there, you're doing great.
