    Wacky Cake


    Recipe Description
    a chocolate cake that uses no eggs
    Preparation Steps:
    pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
    30-40 mins
    Ingredients:
    2 1/4 cup flour
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    4 1/2 Tablespoons cocoa
    1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
    1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 cup & 1 teaspoon oil
    1 1/2 cup cold water
    Serves:Directions:
    Sift all dry ingredients into an oblong pan. Make 3 wells( holes) in the middle of the mixture. Add vinegar, vanilla, oil each in one hole ( vanilla in one well, oil in the next well, etc). Pour cold water over the mixture. Stir with a spoon ( or fork) until smooth. Bake for 30-35 mins.
    Frost as you choose

    :licklips: If you add more cocoa it's a dark chocolate cake.
    You can also use orange extract in place of the vanilla.

    This is my family's favorite cake! It's so easy to make fancy with frosting and Ghiradelli Chocolate candy squares.

    This looks fantastic- I have a friend with egg/dairy allergies and never know what to make when she comes over. I am definitely going to try this!

    My aunt made this whenever we would visit as children. We always loved it because we got huge pieces! Thanks for the trip down memory lane and the recipe.

    I like to top this with a topping of cinnamon/sugar before baking instead of using frosting. The sugar gets crunchy and makes a nice contrast to the moist cake.
