Back from our last camping trip of 2008....

Last week we got back from Mackinaw and the UP. Just beautiful scenery, enjoyed every minute of it! I think I want to move into one of those little cabins near Lake Superior or Lake Huron. I'll read books and look out over the water....and dream, take naps, live in lala land!!! Seriously, we spent little on food. I cooked in our little camper every night. I went prepared. I had baked chicken ready to put on the grill, taco meat ready for nachos, smoked saus, cheese ball made, soup, --we did ok. I didn't fall into buying crazy @ Mackinaw but did buy a magnet from Whitefish Point. We snacked for lunch, cheese & crackers, h2o. We spent around 30$ a night for camping. I came home, cleaned & scrubbed our little pickup camper and it's out for sale. Onward & upward to our RV next year, that is--if we get it going!! And we will!!!

Sounds like y'all had a great time. Here in south Texas, we're just really getting into camping season. Camping in 100 degree weather is just not that fun and the weather starts cooling down a little by the end of September. Good luck selling your camper!

Sounds like a great time. My husband really wants to go camping in the UP. Maybe we will give it a try next year. I think we have 5 more trips this year. The last one will be on Thanksgiving. We will go to Evergreen campground in Amish Country (here in Ohio). We have never camped for Thanksgiving, but I am looking forward to it.
