? for those that go camping
Those of you with motorhomes or campers will the extremely high price of gasoline keep you from going camping this summer? We will probably still go but it will not be as often and we will only be going to the lake that is closest to us (about 25 miles from home). We may even decide to leave our motorhome parked at the lake at the marina in the outdoor storage. We can park it there for $20 for the year and we would not have to pay for the gas to drive it home and back. It woud only be a few miles around the lake from the marina to the campgrounds. The drawback is that I would not be able to clean it as well as I would like and it would have access to it to bring things into it as we packed for the campout.

Can't help ya. We are carry-it-all-on-your-back-sleep-in-a-tent primitive campers.

We have a small class B motorhome (the kind that looks like a van in the front and a motorhome on the back) it 26 ft and gets good milage as far as motorhomes go......... It's still a frugal way to spend a weekend...... But we won't be going too far from home this year....

We too do the tent thing. It just isn't camping if you can't enjoy the great outdoors the entire time.

We have an OLD, tiny motorhome. It's a 1972 Dodge , 19 foot. But it sleeps 6 people and has a kitchen and bathroom (shower doesn't work though).
We won't be going very far this year either. Maybe to Shawnee forest again or someother place here in IL. We generally go out of state for our vacations, but planning on staying closer to home this year.

We do the tent thing to, but even only doing the tent thing, we won't be going very far. The gas prices are just too high and there is fear it will even go higher.
Will have to tent in our backyard.

We will still be camping in our camper too. We just have the traditional pop-up camper which is great for us 5. It is easy to sit up and fits us all. We have already been talking about going out in a couple of weeks.

We have a 27 foot ultra lite tow camper. We are going to Fl. over Easter despite gas prices because my father hasn't seen my children in 3 years.
This summer we will be going camping where we always do about 100 miles from home where we both grew up. We usually go there about 5 or 6 weekends throughout the summer.
We will also be taking it to Springfield to the State Fair.
Other than that I am unsure where we will go.
