    Default Going camping...

We are going camping Wednesday evening after class, then coming home Sunday after breakfast. Dh, ds and i, this is the first time that dd and ds#1 will not be there. Feels strange, but she is a college girl now with lots on her mind and ds#1 is a working man so he is staying home. I am very excited, especially after doing my menu planning and grocery list. I have stockpiled so much the only things I will have to purchase is ice and fresh vegies for potato salad, eggs, and charcoal! I am so excited, I am even able to go camping on pantry poverty and no onw will notice the difference, oh, I do have to buy a small instant coffee, unless anyone has a bright idea on how to make coffee without a coffee pot???

I need this vacation, plus I can catch up on my reading for Children's Lit.

Have fun Robin!!...I cant wait for our camping trips...Oh by the way you can put coffee grounds in a cheesecloth tie it up and pour boiling water over it and let it seep, if you don't have a coffee pot!!

Well, the trip was wonderful. Before you all laugh your pants off, remember that I am a city girl...I saw quite a few animals I dont usually see...'
    A grey fox!
    A coyote
    A quail
A black bear (in out campsite!)
    A scorpion

We had a bear visitor Saturday night, he was trying to get at some plastic cutlery that i left unwashed. Dh and I started making lots of noise, he was banging the crowbar together with a big spoon to try and make some noise, because ds was in his own tent with the pot and spoon to scare the bears and make noise. I could tell that dh was not making enough noise, and I didnt want the bear to tear down the screen house. SO...I stood up and tried to make some noise while dh was clinking his tools together and I got clinked on the cheekbone! I am fine, just a slight bruise and sore spot. It was funny tho, because earlier that night dh was using his crowbar to move the firewood in the pit and it had lots of soot on it, when it hit my face it rubbed the black off and he thought he had bruised me terribly because of the sooty mark... At least it is nice to be treated special, he is so sorry that he did it. I know it was truly an accident and all my fault, but I am letting him spoil me a little.

Great trip, glad to be back in the village for sure...
