10th Anniversary of Our Family and Friends Camping Trip!!!

I'm so excited we leave tonight to go to VA camping/ We took our family camping when they were little because it was cheap and fun! Our oldest and his wife started this new tradition 10 yrs ago. As many of us that can make get there every year. This yr all but one of my kids and his family will be there. My daughter-in-laws Dad will be there and a couple of my son's friends. It is so much fun! We eat, hike, eat and eat! We all take turns doing meals on the open fire. My son has all there gear. My huubby and I are sleeping in our van on an air mattress. It will take about 6 hrs to get there and we will be just in time for breakfast. I think he's making waffles over the fire on a cast iron griddle. It's making me hungryjust talking about it. The ages that will be there this year range from9mo to 69yr. What a fun time this will be!!!

The camping trip was a big sucess! We all had alot of fun. We got there in 5hrs. It took longer to get home.We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home for dinner. It was very warm this year. We saw a bear this year too. We went on hikes everyday. My favorite was the rock scramble. You climb over the mountains by grabbing the rocks and putting your feet in the right places. My 6yr old grand-daughter and her 69 yr old grandfather did this one too! It didn't rain this time either. All the food was good! I had fun cooking over the fire. I fixed chicken and dumplings one night for dinner. And I cooked french toast and bacon for one of the breakfasts.Can hardly wait till next year it all went too fast!
