You are so right Amy, in fact we're heading out to the "Island" the middle of May. Driving thru those mountains is so good for my soul, if you know what I mean. Living here in the "Hat" is OK, ecomony is very good, and when we bought our home here, real estate was very resonable. A few years ago, we were considering a move to Drayton Valley, which I loved, closer to the mountains, rain even, but we were hesitant, could kick our tushes now! One thing I really do miss, is all the craft shows that they have out on Vancouver Island, the hippie era is still alive, some very talented people!! And I always end up spending way too much money, dragging all this stuff back out here. Really, how many sea-gulls and crab-traps can you have in the middle of the bald prairie!!

I'm was born, raised and still live in southern ON. As south in Canada as you can get........on the MI/ON border right across from Detroit

Not the most beautiful area of the country........ VERY flat land, but it's home

My parents are heading out to BC in their motorhome in May too! Ahhh retirement....must be nice. I love, love, LOVE the country around Drayton Valley. It's one of the most beautiful areas I've ever driven through. I'm LOL at the crab-traps...I'm sure most people around here would think it's a gopher or magpie trap!

I am not a Canadian, but have thought seriously about moving to the Maritimes. Maybe PEI? My great uncle was born and raised in Nova Scotia. He was a wonderful man. After over 20 years of desert and dry grassland in the USA, I'm looking for a change. (Even if I have to duct tape my other half to the bumper of our car.)

How far north? I was born and raised in Flin Flon.
Met my husband (Bomber) and moved to the prairies.

I'm in Nova Scotia toooooooooo Lady NAda!!!! Whoooo-hoooo!!!!!! Where are you here? I'm in Dartmouth..Lake Banook. I heart being a bluenoser.
I have travelled a lot, as far as New Zealand and Fiji, but have always lived here in NS, and I'll never leave. Now that I'm thinking about kids I feel especially strong about staying here.

And love PEI too LOL unless I make the mistake of wearing white That dirt can really suck, but other than that I do enjoy it!

Me too, except I live in Ontario now. I don't know how much longer we'll last here. It was good at first, but pretty isolated for me with no family around. Now my husband is growing pretty weary of Toronto, so we're starting to discuss what we need to do to get home.

I'm originally from Elmira, New York and I moved to Calgary in late 2002 with DH and DS #1. I was in the Marine Corps and lived all up and down the East Coast for a while. I do miss the US for some things: my mom, Sonic, my brother, North Carolina, Andy's Cheesesteaks, Southside Sub Shop, etc. I absolutely love it here in Canada in the end!

I went there once when I was 5. Is the zoo still there?
I remember going on a lake and you could walk very far before it got deep!! (might not have been that far, but when your young things are so much larger!)
