Calico,
You could always make it, and Freeze. Than you could "treat" yourself once a week or so. That way, you could still "open" chocolate Recipes!!*LOL* I too have begun a healthy lifestyle, but I still have my family to contend with. So I make it, freeze it and when I feel like I deserve a little something special, I take one or two out and it feels like I'm splurging.

My teenage daughters have a candy making day in Dec. with their friends. We make things like peppermint patties and peanutbutter balls, each girl brings home her creations to share with their families. This sounds like a perfect addition thank you for the recipie, the girls are going to love it.

Now that I'm reading this recipe again, I can't see how it would be possible to shape them into balls once the mixture had hardened. I use the same ingredients (just add a bit of vanilla and salt to the above recipe, and you have my fudge recipe) to make fudge, and it sets up firm.
I'm going to have to try that this year and see what happens. I think it would look better in ball shape, and I love the idea of the different things to roll them in....
