    Default Countdown to Christmas Challenge

Thanks to the great idea from aylasmommy...we now have a thread where we can all post our plans-of-attack for Christmas.

Similar to our grocery challenges, we can post our goals...whether they are motivated by time, money, projects, or any type of goal.

As I stated before, these are my current goals:

Have all Christmas gifts purchased by November 15th

Have all Christmas cards stamped and ready to mail by December 1st.

OMG! Today i did half of my Christmas shopping!
I got stuff for my sister, FIL, MIL, and grandma.
That leaves my dad, carl and ayla, for family at least..

For my sister I got a real nice ivory decorative pillow..
It said 8.99$ BUT was CLEARANCED at the register at 5.99$ At that price I can't help but afford to add in a 10$ gc to a book store..i wonder if there is a way to get a gift certificate to half.com?

My grandma I got a really pretty silk flower centerpeice for her..Even dh was convinced it was the best looking one in the store It was only 5.99$ (She will also get a framed picture of ayla)

My MIL I got some kitchen towels with fish on them(they love anything sea related)..chenille gloves and some decorative soap. total cost there was about 12$. I think I'll fill it up with something else neat, but not sure what yet..

FIL I got a tin of cookies for 6.99...and we need to get something else..he's much too hard to shop for!

I also got Christmas cards, so now I need to hurry up and get a picture of the family done, printed and ready to mail

My goal is to have the rest of my family gifts done by the end of next weekend nov. 10.

Then I will have the rest of the time to figure out what to get my neighbors and the angel tree..and start getting pretty tins for my baked goods

Hmm now about wrapping everything..not so sure about that one!

I like this idea of having a Christmas Challenge.

My personal goal is to have everyone's presents bought by mid November as well. I only like 3 nieces, plus my 3 boys and DH. Everyone else is purchased. I don't know when I should start wrapping them so they still look fresh. Any ideas? I still like to get up and shop the day after Thanksgiving day sales. Just a tradition!

Mary, I found some nice kids gifts at Dollar Tree yesterday. They had buckets of sidewalk chalk, Playdoh (real Playdoh, not off brand) funky nightlights, bath and body stuff, all for $1.00. I'm going to buy stuff for my DD's and my niece there. I hate spending money on my niece, she is so ignorant, and she's only 7.

I hope to get Christmas cards done by Friday and mailed a couple of days before Thanksgiving.... I am still wrapping but coming along pretty good... Gotta make cookie dough soon.... I got all my choc. chips on sale for .69c a bag and bought lots of after Halloween candy to crush in to my dough..... The house is in pretty good shape.... Dh said he'd put the lights on the house this week so he's not doing it again in the snow....... We'll see ??????

I just realized I have half of my dad's gift in my car...I'll just get another shirt and be done with that..

I bought most of Ayla's gifts tonight and half of dh's gifts..Spent a total of 25$ for the both of them so far..

oh about keeping gifts wrapping fresh..I guess doing it as close to giving it to the person as possible is best..at least in my house for sure
Maybe you could pick out what wrapping paper and bows you want to do for each gift and have it all organized like that, ready to go, with the tape, scissors and tags all in one place..
