Nana's Teacakes
Nana's Teacakes
Recipe DescriptionThese are DS#1 and DH's favorite cookies. I always have to make a double batch and they don't last over 3 days.Preparation Steps:Preheat oven to 350*F.Level of Difficulty:EasyTime Needed:15 minutes prep: 40 minutes bakingIngredients:2 cups sugarServes:
1 cup shortening
4 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder*
1 tsp. salt*
4 cups flour*
(I always use 4 cups self rise flour.)About 5 dozen drop cookiesDirections:Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add vanilla.
Add rest of ingredients gradually, mixing well.
Roll out, cut and bake OR drop by generous rounded tsp. onto cookie sheet.
(I use drop method because cookies are softer.)
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until light brown on bottom.

These sound like they would be wonderful with a cup of coffee or hot cocoa.

Yep, ice cold milk on a hot day chases them down just fine, too!
