Bendaroos
Has anyone ever used Bendaroos? My son just got some, he LOVES them and wants me to make all sorts of things out of them. It's not quite as easy as it looks but he has lots of fun with them. (the funny thing is they are just like colored wax on candlewicks. Hhahaha. They cost $20, but I guess it's worth it cause he loves them so much.)

My kids asked for them and got a big fat no and a pack of pipe cleaners leftover from Christmas instead.
Mean mom award goes to me.

Wesley asked for them.
Wesley got denied.
I didn't even offer an alternative. Does that mean we are tied for first on that mean mom award Sara?

That's so funny! I was tempted to say no, but he started walking up to little old ladies smiling like it was christmas day and saying "look what I've got, It's bendaroos, and I'm going to have so much fun!" Everyone was smiling and giggling. He totally had me.

My daughter (10) bought them with her own money for her bday in April and still plays with them. She loves them. She and her cousin played at the table with them for over an hour yesterday.

A friend of mine made her own out of pipe cleaners and candle wax. Apparently, she got a block of parrafin, coloring, and pipe cleaners and they work great. I'm not sure if they hold up as well as the actual bendaroos, but she said it was cheap and the kids were happy with them!

I wonder if a little mineral oil in the paraffin would keep it more pliable? I know some kids who would enjoy them too.

My almost 8 yo put this on his X-mas list this year...$25.99 ($15.99 for the refills). I don't know that I'm crafty enough to make my own without a 'recipe'!!!!

if my kids really want something like that , that i hope will keep them busy for hours i try to find a deal LOL like using a 50% off coupon at the craft store to get them .
9 yo asks for slime every year for christmas i say no- could be free ( i know you can make home made also ) i just dont want the mess - i know it will be used maybe 2x for the novelty and thats it LOL

Looking back at this thread makes me laugh. Wesley ended up with bendaroos because my mom thought I was SO horrible for not buying them for him that she did as a Christmas present.
He has played with them approximately 2 times.
