Am I wrong???
On our recent vacation we took a cc for the deposit on rooms etc. We had travelers checks for our basic expenses. We had a transmission problem on the car to the tune of a little over $1100. We had to use the cc since our EF is in an online bank.
Dh wants me to send in a transfer for $1100 and pay the cc as soon as the transfer goes through. I don't want to touch that $. Since I do all the budgeting and bill paying I am fully confident that I can pay the balance in full before the grace period.
It just seems silly to me to pull out out of the online bank when I know full well it will be paid in full by the due date. Am I way out there on this one????

I wanted to add but I can't edit. There is no chance of us keeping any cc debt. We worked to hard to pay of 46K to go there again. We have been debt free but the house 19 months and plan to stay there.

If you can pay it in full, then don't touch the online bank. I'm on your side.

Thanks Juto! Ok maybe I'm not way off. I'd get the darn thing paid even if it meant eatting nothing but oatmeal for a month.

DO it your way!!! You are already disciplined enough to pay it off, that has been proven.

I agree. If you are able to pay it off in full before the grace period, I would leave the money in the bank. If not, I would take it out and use it because I wouldn't pay interest charges when you have the money to pay it off.

that's a tough one -
if the cc was for emergencies only, I would say leave the online acct alone, but if the online acct was for emergencies, I would say transfer the $ because the car issue was an emergency.
???
Just don't argue about it - it's not worth the stress

I'd just pay it off before the due date if it's possible.

Thanks for all the opinions! I'm not transfering it. It just seems everytime $ comes out of there it's hard to get it all back in. Now I know that makes no sense since I said I can buckle down tight and get the $ to pay it off before the due date but it sure seems to work that way.
Uhhh hum......it's also easier to get dh to give up dining out when he knows there is a biggie to pay for.

I don't see any problem since you are committed to paying it off. What it all boils down to is that you need to be in agreement with your husband on this matter.

I asked him if I'd lead him astray with my financial tactics in paying off the 46K in consumer debt. He said no I'm really great at it. I told him then to please let me do what I think works best. He ok'ed it. We weren't really arguing about it but he kinda freaked that we had used the cc. I also contacted our online bank for a debit card. That will eliminate having to use a cc again.
