Aldis trip
I went to Aldis last week and I was just sooo grossed out. Almost all of the produce had mold on it. When I told the sales clerk she shrugged her shoulders and proceeded to go to a register to ring up customers. I put all my canned and boxed stuff back and left the store. I will never shop there again!!!

Too bad.
Our Aldi is very clean and organized.
I wouldn't not ever shop Aldi again, I'd just find a better managed store....you can write corporate and complain also...

Eew. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'd be calling the store manager, and if that doesn't work, keep complaining up the chain. Both the store and the clerk need to corrections.

That's the way ours was until they remodeled and got new management. Now, it's clean & bright. Only occasionally do I find produce that shouldn't be on the shelves...but no more often than any other grocery store I go to.

Unfortunately the one nearest to us is like that, also. They are dirty with bad and expired items on the shelf. They are about 20 minutes away, but I won't go there b/c of this. Ick!

That is too bad. Sorry for your experience. Our two Aldi stores are both very clean and neat. I find that I do better there than using coupons at the other stores. But that's just me.

I have never been there, but have been thinking about giving it a try. I hope mine is not like that. I would be grossed out from the mold and appalled at the clerk's attitude.

Definitely complain to management! But even better than complaining vote with your dollars.
Do you have a farmer's market near you? Or does your area have a CSA? (check local harvest dot org) The locally grown produce is so much fresher and tastier than what you find in a grocery store. Also keep an eye out for small roadside stands, they pop up everywhere (around here at least) at this time of year.
I would far rather support my local small farmers than some agribusiness multinational conglomerate.

Sometimes the produce at our Aldi is hit or miss. I've never seen anything with mold actually growing on it though. I've seen things maybe a little passed their prime. I think I'm more disappointed in the clerks whole attitude about it, than I am the mold issue.
I would maybe give them one more shot, before giving up on Aldi altogether.

I would complain to management also. Our Aldi store is relatively clean and neat, but the produce does seem to be hit or miss. Never moldy and gross, just things past their prime.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I haven't run into any problems at my Aldi store. Matter of fact, I've had quite the opposite experience. The pineapple that I've had lately has been so good that I had to go get more. All the other produce items have been fine.

Wow, that is an awful experience! Our Aldi is clean and the staff are very friendly. I think on produce it is a hit and miss at many grocery stores. I bought strawberries from Kroger and the next day they were covered in mold. I would complain about the clerk until something is done about it and if that works then try Aldi again.

I don't usually buy the produce at Aldi. My mom's Aldi has decent produce, the one closest to me is very hit or miss. I also find the bread I buy molds quicker from Aldi. I like their baking items though and find them to be a great buy for the price
