Our Target can do receipt look up when you have paid buy check, too.

I was told that with a gift receipt I could only have store credit, not money back. But that's okay. I can spend store credit; who can't?

Here are a couple sites that help you do the same with online purchases.
    http://www.refundplease.com/
    http://www.priceprotectr.com/
I echo those that say bring your receipt in within a certain amount of time & most places will do a readjustment. Check out your stores policy.

    Default Call Your Local Store

I bought my daughter a dorm fridge last week for $149, and it's on sale this week for $109-- $40 is nothing to laugh at. Called my local Target and the woman told me that they price adjust within 14 days, as long as you have the receipt. From other posts, it sounds like policies vary store-to-store.
