Default Great day of discount shopping.....

Hubby and I planned this trip for quite a while. We spent a bit more than I intended, but we found some things that we really needed.

    1) Salvation Army Thrift Store: 2 pairs of pajama pants (J. Crew and Calvin Klein) for $3, black jeans for hubby at $7, 2 Pyrex mini bowls for cooking ingredients for $2.

    2) Ocean State Job Lot: 2009 Calendar, mini-calendar and two-year planner for $2

    3) Dollar Tree: 6 bottles of hand sanitizer (I'm a teacher), Yardley Lavender soap, 32 oz of wool wash, big empty spray bottle, 4 Colgate toothbrushes....all for $13

    4) Savers (new thrift store): bluejeans for hubby for $10, huge Pyrex mixing bowl for $6

    5) Macy's: 6 pack of Gold Toe Athletic Socks on sale for $15. Not the cheapest. However, he's had his old Gold Toe white socks since we met (back in 2000) and they're getting really ragged. Figured it was worth it to pay more for something that will last for a long time.

    6) Victoria's Secret: FREE pair of bikini underwear.

    7) Shaws: Buy 1 4 pack of Bumblebee Albacore Solid White Tuna in water get one free. 8 cans of tuna for $5.79, which is about 70 cents per can. Now I have 11 cans of tuna in the cupboard.

Sounds like you did very well! I love Savers. They have a few in RI, and I am waiting for them to open here in CT.

I've never seen Savers before. It was a good store. Sort of like a cheaper Marshalls with yard sale items.
