Food Lion closings

I have two nearby Food Lions closing within the next few weeks. Has anybody gone into one that was closing and found any good deals?

Ours closed several years ago. None close around here anymore. Strange since I thought it was a southern based store.

I went to one about 20 mins west of me. Everything except alcohol and tobacco was 50 % off. I bought:
10 cans of campbells chunky soup
2 cans cream of chicken soup (campbells)
2 cans of food lion chicken rice soup
12 jars Heinz gravy
2 liquid Ridx
2 7 lb bags of Purina One cat food
2 12 lb boxes of Swheat Scoop Cat litter
1 bottle Stubbs BBQ sauce
1 box Triscuits
1 King Arthur Bread flour
1 bottle Mccormick vanilla
1 bottle Mckormick whole black peppercorns
1 Can Gatorade
1 110z brick of Food Lion Colombian Coffee
1 pack of Crystal Light 2 qt drink mix

Total was 77 dollars
Overall the store was pretty picked over, but the cat food/ cat litter alone were good deals at 50 % off.
i wish they had more frozen and meat items than they did. my hubby was with me and he gets impatient. I am tempted to go to the store 20 mins East of me now. But dont want to be too greedy. I will try to fight the temptation for a little while..

If it was me and I could afford to go a second time to the other one....that's like BOGO on anything they have left, not just the things they chose to put on BOGO, I'd definitely be going.

The longer you wait, if you end up going, the less and more picked over the stuff will be.
I would SO be going if I could. I didn't know about ours closing but again that was years ago. Albertsons closed up a couple 2-3 years ago in the next town but I didn't know they were doing the 50% off until too late.

We have 4 Food Lions in this little one horse town. I haven't heard anything about them closing any of them.

O yes DH could go home and i would grab all I could. My DH thinks more than 3 is A LOT so I ignore him and get what I can.

1I finally made it to the other store 20 mins east of me.

this time everything was 75% off.
I got 12 (1 lb) boxes of Purina One cat food.
3 jars of various salsa (mango peach salsa and hot salsa)
1 box of hummus mix
6 bags of Hershey kisses ( various flavors)
8 candy bars
1 Pyrex glass loaf pan
Plastic funnel set (3)
chili powder
1 lb bag of dried beans
1 minestrone soup mix
1 minestrone soup can
1 meat thermometer
1 wine stopper
4 mini containers
1 Old Bay seasoning mix
4 energy drinks
50 fld oz natural laundry detergent

Total was 52 dollars

2 boxes of starbucks vita instant coffee singles
1 lb of Asian snack mix
1 kiss my face 10 oz bottle of bubble path
1 bottle of store brand Mylanta
