We used to buy the boxed cold cereals (now have to be gluten free, so can't do that) and we loved them.

We still buy - sugar, oil, fresh produce, milk, eggs, block cheese (I find their sliced cheese repulsive), turkey ham and ham lunch meats. . . .

Easier to say what I won't buy there which is their frozen pizza. It sucked but some people must like them because every time I go in I see several people with them in the cart.

Also bought their ice cream once and him and the kid said it was grainy. I ate some and thought it was ok especially with the difference in price but I'm not a picky ice cream person and seldom eat it.

I don't buy fresh meat there.

Hubby LOVES their soup. Other than the above I've found nothing I wouldn't buy again. Oh, haven't tried the tuna. Probably won't after what I've read on here.

I get their Instant mashed potatoes, Pancake mix, and Instant rice. I find most of the other stuff I can get cheaper using coupons elsewhere.

We love their salsa. In fact my sis came to visit from across the country and wanted to take a suitcase of the salsa home with her because she doesn't have Aldi where she lives!

    I also buy their:

    Hummus, LOVE their hummus
Choceur candy, esp caramel and hazelnut chocolate
    Mango and strawberry soft licorices
    Milk
    Cheese, including american slices
    yogurt
    Spaghetti sauce
    Pasta
    Frozen tortellini
    Tortilla chips
Potato chips (except their BBQ flavor, yuck!)
    "ritz" type crackers
    Baking staples
Fruit and veggies, most of the time
    Cereals
    General Tsos chicken
    Fruit juices
Bologna (I won't touch any bologna, but DH likes it)
    Choc chip cookies

    I do NOT like their:

    refried beans
    flour tortillas (too thick)
    Orange chicken
    BBQ potato chips
Red-Bull knock-off (DH drinks Red Bull and says Aldi's version is gross)

its funny reading everyone's lists of things they like and don't like. Obviously its a try it and see for yourself kind of thing.

The only things I have bought from Aldi's that I did NOT like -

hand lotion - felt like armoral
fresh meat - didn't seem "fresh"
Sharks - Aldi's version of goldfish - my son didn't like them
frozen shrimp - soft in texture and shrunk down to nothing
ranch veggie dip - just didn't care for the taste

thats all I can remember buying that I didn't like. I'm about 95% Aldi's now.

Also 95% Aldi -- We love their dairy, "Cheerios", peanut butter, Grandessa spaghetti sauce(it's a bit lower in sodium), wild-caught salmon, and frozen veggies. Can get good deals on fruit in season. I like their Lacura skin creams and lipstick.

This helped me make a great list. Planning on shopping there on Wednesdays when I'm off work. I went last Wednesday with limited time and got dairy products and cereal. Thankfully my kids liked the cereal and the milk was $2.49 - everywhere else here is selling milk over $3.

I'll go back again this week with a more comprehensive list. Keep your thoughts coming, very helpful!

I am new, but I do some of my shopping at aldis.

I buy their sharp cheddar cheese blocks,Cold cereals, the low fat (regular non whipped) yogurt, coffee creamer, milk, tuna, spaghetti sauce, noodles, canned tropical fruit ( soooo yummy), hummus, chips, tortillas, bread/ hot dog buns, hamburg helper, lunch meats, frozen ground turkey, chunky soups ( beef veggie and chick noodles), frozen raviolis, chick nuggets, bagged apples, bananas, potatoes, grapes and Popsicles.their new granola bars are excellent, and I also buy their apple juice. Oh and the chocolate bars, the hazelnut variety that comes in a three pack. Amazing!!!!

Things I don't buy; coffee, their brand ramen noodles, frozen chicken breasts, bagged salad, salsa, anything "diet", their brand bubble gum. Also the fancy frozen desserts. Schawns are so much yummier ( and costly. Boo)

I've had no problems with their meat. We like the Clancys potato chips, they are very thinly sliced which we love. I like the blue tortilla chips.

I love the Grandessa salad dressings - the raspberry vinaigrette is my favorite, Dh likes the garlic - they are very very low sodium and taste great.

I buy the fair trade coffee I think it's good, DH likes their instant.

Their frozen jumbo sea scallops are excellent.

I am ok with their ice cream really like the frozen fruit ice bars.

Recently they had little goat cheeses which were yummy.

I like the low sodium broth - I make nearly all our broth, but have some of theirs as a backup.

Their diced tomatoes are very good, the ones with diced chiles are as good as Rotel and half the price.

During Lent they have a seafood salad in the deli case which is delicious. I bought two last week. I like their chicken salad also. Yes I know I can make it but sometimes it's too hectic.

If it's something that I am willing to buy, I will at least try their version.

Oh I think their detergent is very good. Not so much the dishwashing soap, I tried but was not happy and for that I really buy only Dawn or Palmolive.

They have two house brands of pizza, the cheaper one is average, the more expensive one is quite good.

I am in our Aldi's once a week for the main part of our groceries. The very few times, I have ever run into a problem with a product, I just retain the packaging and take it back in, and get a refund. No problems.
I have one product right now, that will be going back this week.
Beef patties, 5 # pkg. I should have read the ingredients list. It has soy products in it. I have tries, cooking it several ways. Still does not taste like beef. Not even close.

Sounds disgusting I looked at the meat and just kept walking right on by! We have a freezer full of beef and hog and I'm thankful for the locally-grown animals we have access to buying.

I am really liking all of the feedback everyone is providing in this thread. Thank you all very much; I'm still reading and digesting it all!

The little cheese crackers (on the box they look like Cheez-Its) are really bad. Even my dogs didn't like them.

Their brand of raisin brand cereal was not great---the bran was not crisp and there were very few raisins.

My son says the Clancy potato chips are not good, but the rest of us think they're fine.

Milk at my Aldi's is currently $1.99.

I haven't bought any meat there except for bacon and lunch meat.

All the canned goods are fine. The peanut butter is good and much cheaper than anywhere else. I've been pleased with all the frozen products as well.

Their baking goods are also fine---oil, shortening, choc. chips, flour, sugar, cake mixes, etc.

And their weekly produce specials are great!

Our Aldi's opened last summer and I have seen a difference in our food spending since then. I've convinced some friends to try it, and they like it too.
