Sutherland's Market Day
I just found out about this a couple weeks ago. Selected Sutherland's hardware stores bring in pallets of fresh fruit and vegetables during the winter months and sell it at discounted prices. They have "market day" about every two weeks, check your local store for dates. They don't seem to advertise it very much.
Some of the prices are really good, some not great, but all the produce was nice and fresh. Today we got:
apples .79 /lb
cauliflower 1.89 ea
mini carrots .89
bananas .49 lb
pears .89 lb
cantelope 2.29 ea
broccoli 1.49 ea
cucumber .59 ea
pistachios 7.99 lb
roasted peanuts 1.19 lb
lemons .21 ea
limes .21 ea
The apples were huge, about the size of grapefruit. The bunches of broccoli were also huge. The cukes, pears and cauliflower were all good size, too. Nice heavy lemons and limes, and the nuts were not stale like they often are when they sit out in bins at the store.
They also had potatoes, sweet potatoes, berries, tomatoes, pecans, walnuts, grapefruit, asparagus, onions, oranges, corn on the cob, eggplant and a bunch of stuff I can't remember.
This haul should keep us for a week or two. The next advertised date is Dec 21.Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.
If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.
Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown
Because we, the people, have the power to build a better future. KH
