Technically we finished last week, but I told the kids they still had to do math everyday until we went on vacation in June. They need to keep up the practice and Michael is in the middle of his book still. So how about you?

We never finish . We just keep going and going since we do a more year-round approach. We actually begin and end our school year in Dec/Jan. In the summer we do a lot more relaxed learning and indorporate their summer travels into their studies. It is so hot here in the summer they don't mind spending part of the day inside.

We go all year. The only planned time off we take is two weeks every December when we take our vacation to Disney. Other than that, we pretty much continuously do school.

That is great that you go all year. My dh is a teacher so we pretty much follow the school calendar. The kids continue to learn all the time though, just not the sit down and do school sort of learning.

Tomorrow is our last day! Can you tell I'm ready for a break?!? They still have to read everyday and we'll do a couple of "mini-sessions" this summer. I've got some unit studies prepared on NASCAR and how to plan and budget a summer vacation. They will also be learning some major "life skills" this summer, like gardening, sewing, painting, etc. We will start back officially around Labor Day.

Everyone here is finished, except for Sarah...she had a tough time with the algebra, but will finish next week.
We start the school year the day after Labor Day and go until we're done(usually the last of May). Everyone finishes at different times during the year.....sometimes as early as Feb.-Mar. If they finish that early, then they get a week's vacation. After that, they start on 2-3 subjects of their choice for the next year - they can double & triple up on lessons- and they work on those subjects until the last part of May.It makes the load a little easier for when they start up again in September.

We're year rounders, too. Our official end of year for paperwork is June 30, but what they do on June 30 and July 1 isn't really any different.

Ps got out today, so my one who went to ps this year got promoted, so tomorrow starts our "summer term", and the others will also move up a grade. Grades are pretty much just tied to age and don't reflect the level of work they're doing anyway.
