During the winter, you can’t blame your kids for wanting to stay indoors. Not only can freezing temperatures be unpleasant, but they can actually be dangerous. When things start to warm up in the spring however, it’s the perfect time to send your kids outdoors to play. Tips for Encouraging Your Kids to Spend More Time Outdoors

What steps do you take to get your kids/grandchildren to spend more time outdoors?

I tell them we're going outside. So far, that's all that's been needed. We have a bunch of things they can do outside; a garden-turned-sandbox, chalk, toys, balls, a water table if it's nice, bikes, simple building materials. We spend a fair amount of time outside as a family, from going to parks, walks around the block, or hiking, that it isn't difficult for them to find something to do. Even in colder temperatures, depending on wind and precipitation.
