Yes you heard right I need to challenge myself to an increase.

More planning menus ahead
more cooking in large batches and freezing for quick meals
more using what is on hand and planning shopping around what is in the freezer( again planning)

We get busy in spring and will go out to eat if nothing is quick. And if I have planned dh can start dinner.... not sure why he can't figure it out but I guess I am glad he will fix what I tell him to.

Those sound like good goals to have.

My dh is the same way. He can't figure out what to make unless I have a menu all set up. Even then, I have to pick out what to have and if I'm not going to be home...I have to lay out all the ingredients where he can easily find them. We've lived in this house for almost 5 yrs and the man still can't find anything. It's not like I move things around...much

LOL...you sure we don't have the same husband? Jk...seriously though it does pi$$ me off when he ask "whats on the menu" if say I'm too sick to cook or I call to say I'm not gonna be home to make dinner (which is very rare)maybe if he just looked in the cupboards (btw haven't changed where I put the food in 10yrs) or the freezer he would know where and what we have to eat....

I'm with you on the increase! I really need to make more use of my crockpot this spring and summer. I also need to be more consistent at planning menus ahead of time and then shopping for (and using up!) only what we need.

I really need to plan ahead meals and use up what's on hand. Money is really tight here and planning sure does make a difference when I actually do it. I just have to make myself sit down and do it. Thanks for the motivation!
