    Default Sundays main meal....

I am not to sure if I am posting this thread here or it should be under Frugal tips, but I hope you forgive me.
Reading your tips and menus encouraged me to share my Sunday menu trick.
When I kids were at home even now being married and when my husband is at home I cook a good meat meal with side dishes for that day. Looks like everybody is at home on Sunday and it is like a tradition to have a good meal together. The tricky part is that there always leftover meat, so on Monday my menu had soup and sandwich or a wrap. For a variety add egg salad sandwich if the kids are bored with leftover meat.

    Hi winner..

I am very new here and am trying to learn my way around...LOL

Your thread about Sunday dinner caught my eye.
Hubby and I have a big meal on Sunday, a hold over from when the girls were home. Now we have "planned overs" for a meal on Tuesday, plus meat for sandwiches he takes to work during the week.

If I do it right, I only really have to cook twice a week, like chili or stew that can be eaten for two meals. I usually cook from scratch, that way I am in charge of the salt, preserves etc..

Thanks for letting me add my thoughts to your thread. Have a wonderful week !
    Ms T

We do this quite often. Not just to roll the leftovers over into the weekly dinners, but I like to do a small turkey or turkey breast to use the leftover meat for lunches.

We do this too. Our traditional Sunday lunch is roast, potatoes, carrots. During the week we have vegetable beef soup, beef fried rice, shredded beef burritos. Dh calls it 3 for the price of one.

The other 2 days I have meatless suppers.

I've gotten out of the habit of doing this. Sunday's have become "catch what you can" kind of meals, so I need to get back on the wagon. I managed to acquire quite a few free turkeys before Thanksgiving, while rebuilding my stockpile, so that's where I'm going to start.
