    Post 2009 Get Cooking Challenge

I made a new group called Get Cooking. I really want to get back to cooking here at the house and not spend so much money at work on food that rarely satisfies me and cost way too much. I recently ordered How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman. It's a huge book and has tons of things in it. I hope to try out at least one thing every week from whatever source: this new book, magazine, tv, on the net or frugal village. I thought it would be fun to see what recipes everyone else has and especially any pics they could post --- I love recipes that have pictures included.
So open invite to anyone who would like to join. The description I wrote is:
Recipes to share with a plus. The plus being one or more of these things:
    *it's frugal
    *with a picture
    *with extra hints/tips
*how to give as a gift or take to an occasion
    *how to store for later
    *substitute ingredients
    *background info or story
    *can make from pantry/freezer staples

I was thinking maybe some other newbies and even experienced cooks would enjoy the extra plus in recipes posted.

I joined. I've been meaning to get back to cooking. It's not that I don't know how, I just don't often have the energy.

jan i'm probably going to be a weekend cooker too and misa i never have any energy after coming home from work on the weekdays.
i just wonder if all the convenience/junk foods are making me tired at times. to look at a label nowadays it's hard to figure out what the real food particles are.
