Went thru my freezer yesterday. Made a list of what we have.

We have a ton of vension steaks. So we will being eat alot of steak this month.

Need to stock up on Chicken and pork when I see a sale. Next fall we should have pigs and chickens of our own to put in the freezer.

I have some leftover chili that I am going to finish up for lunch and then we are ready to start hammering away at the pantry and freezer again tonight. I just finished making my menu for the week:

2/2: fried cod, rice, green beans, hushpuppies
2/3: chicken taco salads, beans and rice
2/4: hot dogs, baked beans, salad
    2/5: buffalo chicken pizza, salad
    2/6: hamburgers, fries, and malts
2/7: ham and beans, skillet cornbread, salad

Used a couple things out of the pantry but put a BUNCH of squash into the freezer.

That is okay though- a month or two ago it wouldn't have fit!

I have a chest freezer. We are trying to use up the meat on the bottom. I have alot of pork and chicken. And a bunch of steaks I got on sale. We didn't have to buy any meat in January.

I need to use up a bunch of what's in my freezer so I can organize it and make it more efficient for regular use! I'm in for this challenge.

I've got some breaded tilapia fillets that I think will make a nice dinner tonight.

My freezer will be better next week when I delivered meals, breads and desserts to my friend having surgery.

I'm in this month. The freezer is full and needs a rotation. This month I will only buy milk, eggs, bread some produce and the good specials.

I did the challenge in Jan. but didn't get anywhere near done. I have tons left to eat. We are doing a "Daniel Fast" at church starting Feb. 17th, so I will have to buy lots of fresh fruits and veggies (no sweets, meats, white bread or pasta, no deep frying, etc). I plan on not buying anything new until the week of the 17th. Hopefully I can get through most of the extra stuff by then.

I did an inventory of my pantry. I still think my freezer is too full to do in there. I hope to defrost my freezer in March. I hope I will be able to do so.

I cooked a big pot of pinto beans for lunch at church and then church got canceled because of snow. I ate on the beans for two days and froze 3 containers full of them. I know that is backwards progress, but they are out of the pantry ready to reheat and eat.

I also got out a pack of frozen strawberries and served them as dessert. Today's lunch was three lone baked potatoes that were due to be used soon.

I am in again this month. I did well the first half of last month. Then found some great deals I could not pass up. Filled up the freezer and pantry fuller than when I started on Jan. 1.
Need to go through the freezer as I found some pork chops dated 2/09. Good thing that they were foodsavered or they would of been freezer burnt.
Need to use up the old stuff this month.
Need to use another turkey this month. I would like to do some OAMC but have no room for anything in the freezer. Maybe in March I will have some room for that.
Need to defrost the freezer also before the warm weather hits again.

I'm in this month again. I'm still using up baking items the girls left me...and spices...and freezer stuff from 2008!

Today I finished the hm hot chocolate mix by tossing it into muffins. I had no chocolate chips to add and was going to do without, but there were these butterscotch chips DD#1 left here last spring... So I tossed them in. Very tasty muffins.

I really want to get my pantry down in size before we start the kitchen reno. So I'm definitely in this month!
