    Question October pantry/freezer challenge

All you Sept. posters, post here.

I have some serious flour to use up, bread flour for sure. My freezer is average right now.

ok, as said before, I have bought nothing new in October except for some chicken nuggets and milk. All items are from freezer, pantry, or fridge. (I think my fridge is about to die! Time to eat all those odds and ends including various half full marinades, sauces, dressings, toppings, etc)

    finished so far today:
    frige:
    orange juice
    2 packs of soy sauce

    pantry:
add water only kool aid mix

    freezer:
    bag of shreaded chicken
    mixed veggies

October is my month to eat from the pantry/freezer.
I want to have room for at least 4 turkey's when they go on sale.
So far this month I have only spent $11.69 on food
1 3# bag of honey crisp apples marked down to $2.99
2 packs tortilla marked down to $1 each.
Then I hit the bread store for
    2 loaves bread .60 each
2 loaves breakfast bread $1 each
    2 pks bagels $1 each
    1 pk round buns .50
1 pk of animal crackers. $1

I will need to go to the store really soon since I am almost out of milk.
    May go tonight or tom.
Kroger is also having a mega sale and I see a few things that I am out of. May have to see if I can find 10 items to get the $5 off.

I have made a list of things that I want used up soon and am trying to incorporate them into the menu plan.
So far so good. Everything we have eaten since the beggining of the month have come from the pantry/freezer.

Have made some decent progress this month for using things up..........but the freezer space isn't getting much better cause I keep filling it up with either garden or sale items!

More progress will be made when I have to cook again..........by this weekend for sure.

Hoping to delay going to the store for another day.
I do need eggs and some other dairy items and they will be on sale tom. along with milk.
Made my menu's through next week and only need some ricotta cheese for lasagna but I may just get cottage cheese and put it in the blender with a little milk it is cheaper and the kids did not know the difference the last time I did this.

Today I am making stuffed green peppers.
I picked about 30 peppers last week and have been trying to use them up.
Whatever is left today will be hitting the freezer since they are starting to look a little shriveled up.
Today will be using to make dinner
    ground meat
    corn
    can of diced tom.
    cheese
    broccoli
    apples

Oh! I'm in October paychecks will be lower and we have stuffed freezers and cabinets to eat from.

Today I'm using some chicken breasts, the rest of the potatoes, the rest of the half and half, cheese and some veggies for dinner.

I'm going to organize my stockpile and pull things that will expire in the next month or two. That should give me some great ideas for meals for the rest of the month.

I'd like to buy 2-3 turkeys this year

This is such a good thread. My freezer is going down, but I still have lots in my pantry. I am going to use up some frozen shrimp tonight for supper and some brussel sprouts out of the fridge. I am planning to make some bean soup this weekend, that will use up a bag of beans and some smoked sausage in the freezer, although I will probably freeze some of the soup when I am done...
