I am pulling out of the meal planning i change my mind to often on what i want to eat if i was cooking for more then my self i might be able to stick to a plan.Last summer when i was having company several days and cooking for 5 beside my self i wrote down a plan and went by it and in the middle of their stay we had a left over night had plenty and a few left overs.I will be cheering everyone on and get some idea of what i want.

Only enough cabbage rolls for one serving and a work lunch. The rest were eaten as soon as they came out of the oven. Gonna have to add another meal for the week.
I have the garlic bread in the sun oven and I have 2 loaves of cinnamon bread ready to go in next.

wed-beef tips and noodles/brownies
need to make Dh pea soup w/ ham cubes and beef stir fry before Sun. when he leaves. Also he needs to use up the salami and corned beef lunchmeat as i dont eat that stuff.
Maybe I'll make 1 breakfast dinner in there too.
thats as solid is i can do right now. Then for 5-7 days i can do what i want so more veg,salad,spaghetti salad and soup. Like chicken noodle.
I highly over estimated my bread needs and space to freeze

LL, could you refresh my memory about what kind of sun oven you use? Not that I expect to be able to use one now, and I'm not sure it wouldn't be bear bait in any other season. But then weren't you in bear country when you lived west of here?
I made six breakfasts for Husby today, so those will be in the freezer waiting for him. I included two Little Sizzlers sausages, an egg, and will be putting at least a couple pancakes as soon as they're frozen. I hope they'll reheat nicely.
Still need to make up the salisbury steaks for the WW meals I'm planning. Maybe later today. I'm almost out of WW meals in the freezer now, so I have to do something very soon.

Yesterday I made the salisbury steaks with mac and cheese for my WW meals and got eight meals. I'm glad I finally found a salisbury steak recipe I like. I had one for lunch and froze seven. I also made one of my favorite recipes, black bean soup, so I added another six servings of WW meals from that. I need to make WW chili, too. That's a go-to for me and a favorite that I always like and don't get bored with, so I try to keep it on hand all the time.

Going to skip grocery shopping this weekend because it's damn cold out and the stores are full of crazy people shopping for "Icemageddon" (as the media is calling it). The only thing we are low on is fresh veg, but I have plenty of frozen.
Tonight and tomorrow are up in the air because we had plans with friends both nights and the winter storm may affect one or both. If we stay home I can make fish or pasta. We are supposed to have a massive warm up Sunday night so I ought to be able to get to stores Monday for vegetables.

I'm making a double batch of WW Moo Goo Gai Pan. That will make two servings for supper and six for the freezer. I'm determined to get a good inventory in the freezer to keep my interest up and make it easier to stay on my plan and avoid getting bored with my food. I haven't made this in a while and we really like it, so I'm looking forward to it.
I feel like I'm making progress in both food management and meal planning, even though it's not quite like everyone else's meal planning.

I have been meal planning for so long now - 25+yrs - it's just routine and doesn't feel like a chore. Nothing is set in stone, I change or omit depending on my mood but I sure do like having everything I need on hand. I make my menu, check my pantry then make my grocery list. The closest grocery store is 30mins away and I try to keep my shopping down to once a week or even longer during the winter. I just made my menu for the upcoming week and the only thing on my grocery list is grape tomatoes and green salad mix. This weeks menu.....
I am trying to keep my spending for the month way down and on the first I wrote down what meals I could make with what I already have so this menu is from that list.

Took advantage of some sales & markdowns to buy beef, ground turkey, canned clams, sausage. So I plan to make meals using those - beef & sweet potato stew, "sloppy toms" using turkey, Manhattan clam chowder, gumbo. I also want to make spinach & bacon quiche and try freezing it. Hubby said he wants pork chops tomorrow, he happened to see them in the freezer.

Rocky Mountain soup (sausage, ranch beans, rice and tomato/beef broth sauce) x2
Chicken breast (baked?) noodle/rice side, veggie x2
Special K snack bars, rice krispie bars,
Fruit: Grapes, clementines,

I misstated above about having six servings of Moo Goo Gai Pan for the freezer, since I planned for two more to be eaten tonight, but the other four will go in the freezer tomorrow.
I was watching a show on RFDTV about camp cooking. It made me think about maybe converting some WW recipes to Dutch oven camp cooking. Almost anything baked can be cooked in a DO, so I'm sure there are lots of recipes that might work. I just have to find them in my cookbooks.
Tomorrow I'm planning to make a 28-day supply of dog food for the freezer. Does that count as meal planning? :D

SD - All American Sun Oven. I didn't live that close to the bears...that I'm aware of. Not enough cover for them on the high desert plane. However, 20 minutes away where I went snowshoeing could of easily had bears.
Meal planning for the week was an accident. We cooked hm sauerkraut, another huge batch if gumbo, A crockpot full of sausage kale bean soup too. we will be eating these all week and there will be enough to freeze some too.

Tonight is spinach quiche and using up the bacon. Thursday or Friday is simple gumbo (andouille and okra etc.) Need something for Saturday. Hubby is leaving Sunday for the week. I want to use a Subway gift card & coupon for a cheap 12" sub next week that will be several meals. Cheap grocery month!

I can't think of a single thing for supper that sounds good. But I think we'll be having salad because it needs to be used and so do the tomatoes. It'll be good with some leftover ham in it.

I got into the clearance raisin bagels and L.O. bacon for breakfast
prob finish the last 2 pieces in a grill cheese for lunch
I have a steak for dinner and prob. potato maybe open a can of peaches
DH love ya to death but boy is it easier when someone else has to feed ya!!
considering making a pasta like my spaghetti salad or an alfredo
I have 1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce and i have pie crust so maybe a calzoe of sorts
opening a cheerios
and i want a PB&J for some reason
Prob make pancakes to use use some cheery pie filling
possible onion soup
