When Autumn arrives I get busy making hearty dishes to freeze. Meals such as stew, pasta, chili, cabbage rolls, spaghetti and meatballs, borsch and other soups, so there's always a freezer full of goods ready and waiting.

So far this year we haven't tapped-into anything frozen yet, because meals have been big with lots of leftovers, so for now the freezer has gone untouched, aside from my Christmas baking.

I'm still trying to use up last year's freezer meals, and everything else in general. We have an old freezer and it hasn't been defrosted in years. My 2019 meal planning is going to revolve around what we already have, for the most part. And we have way too much.
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

London Broil and pork chops on sale. I have crock pot recipes for both so that is the plan. Pulled ham from the freezer for split pea soup. I made corn muffins last night that fell apart but they are good to add to soup (tomato today for lunch.)

I 'm doing dog club refreshments Monday night so making a pumpkin spice cake, deviled eggs, cheese & crackers. That should be plenty, turnout for the January meeting is poor.

Going to make chicken tortilla soup to use up stuck-together tortillas. Split pea soup toward the end of the week. Another batch of corn-buttermilk muffins.

-- tuna salad sandwiches, chopped salad
    -- leftover chicken, green beans
    -- fish burgers, chopped salad
    -- egg salad sandwiches, +?
    -- spaghetti, meatballs, leftover salad

    The plan:

-- chicken, green beans, baked potato
    -- fish, ?
    -- chicken, veg
    -- (movie night)
    -- beef empanadas, ?
    -- chicken, veg
    -- potluck

Taking a look in the fridge I see I need to get some vegetables.
