    Default excited about oatmeal

    My Dh and I love this oatmeal that of course isn't cheap. Quaker Weight control {hubby} and Quaker Simple Harvest {me} are usually $4.39 a box. {which means we don't buy without a deal!} This week they were both $1.87 a box and they doubled my coupon. Yay! I got 9 boxes of oatmeal for .87 each. Just wish I had more coupons!

    I don't know about the deal part of it but we eat oatmeal here all the time. Just the plain old rolled oats and we all love it. It's healthy, filling, and quick. Happy that you found what you like at a good price

    And hey..... it's so good for your arteries! My doctor told me that oatmeal is like little "scrubbing bubbles" to get the cholesterol out. See how healthy your purchase was!

    I love the simple harvest. I have been eating it every morning for two weeks becuase I got mine for 1.00 a box at albertsons! Wish I could have gotten it at .89 like you but hey a 1.00 is a lot better then the regular 4.99 it is here.

    Yes, I agree with the rolled oats. We usually will make it on the weekends when we have more time. During the work week, we like the convenience of the packets. So, I guess the deal is more about paying for convenience at a cheaper price. {.11 a serving}
    We both have special diets {me-lower cholesterol and DH-lose weight} and need the extras included in the Quaker brands. When not on sale, I have to make the rolled oats {bought in bulk} and add the flax, nuts, seeds,peanut butter, whey protein etc myself. {approx. .15 a serving} I did make it all on the weekend once, and we just heated up a serving all week but it didn't taste as good!

    That is a great deal, I should use up the oatmeal and cream of wheat packets that I have in the cupboard. I like the idea of bringing them to work for a quick breakfast, I'll need to make sure when I buy them next time I look at cholesterol and how much fiber they have. I currently have cheap store brand kinds and I want the best nutritional deal for my money-even if it means buying brand name this time.

    i find that oatmeal is oatmeal - anything else is pretty much a gimmick.

    most of the other "commercial" oatmeal at the grocer i go to frequently has added sugars or other chemicals (i cant pronounce) or is simply a marketing ploy "Heart Healthy Oatmeal". oatmeal to me is rolled oats.
    All oatmeal is heart healthy.
    All oatmeal will help you lose weight, lower cholesterol, help stabilize blood sugar, etc.

    it's all what YOU do with it (added fruits, sugars, honey, salt, butter, etc.)

    i know, but it tastes SO good!
