My 13 year old daughter has been wanting to learn to cook. The trouble is she has trouble reading. Terms like whip, chop, dice, turn, separate, etc. are a real chore for her.
I happened on this book at the library and it is wonderful.
Recipes are in large print. Everything is step by step and anything that might be foreign to a kid is explained and lots of pictures.
I am going to turn her loose with this book over Christmas break and see how it goes.
