Sneaking zucchini in kid's food
My kids have been eating zucchini every day and don't even know it. I have zucchini growing out of my ears in my garden. I thought I would try putting a handful of grated zucchini in thier smoothie. I put about 3 frozen bananas, about a half cut strawberries, 3 eggs, a handful of zucchini and a little honey to sweeten if needed. It makes 3 servings and is delicious.

Great idea!
Lauren likes zucchini fried up with butter or breaded and fried. Kathryn won't touch it unless it's in zucchini bread (which Lauren loves too).

I shred it and put it in muffins, zucchini bread, lasagna, pasta sauce, etc. My kids don't like smoothies, so can't use that one.
Dh loves zucchini fried with scrambled eggs. It sounded weird to me, but it's pretty good. The kids won't touch it though

My dad in 1995 was living in Williston N. Dakota was tell my sister and myself about the farmer growing to much Zucchini and every time they ewent into the would bring a bunch of it and if the found a car unlocked would put the zucchini in the car. Well back there very few people would lock their cars......

I was just telling my friend today (she's from the west side of our state) about Zucchini bandits - they sneak onto peoples porches at night and leave zucchini - I was saying how I wish they would stop by my house.

I put it into pasta sauce, and no one even notices. The funniest zucchini story I ever heard was someone told me their grandma always said that the saddest person in the world was the person buying zucchini in the grocery store. It must mean they had no friends!!!

AKKK I have no friends!!! lol No really I did get some from a friend. But , I have been buying it because it has been so hot everyone's garden pretty much pittered out.
I marinade it in Italian dressing and grill it. We can't ever get enough of it at our house.

I also have purchased zucchini lol! I just thought it was a funny story. It's been so hot and dry here too. It is almost 9pm and it is still in the high ninety's. My ac cannot keep up, it's even warm inside. I don't want to think about the ac bill. No one's garden is doing that well. Corn seems to do really well here, but this year it is dry and pathetic.

Me too, i have no friends!
no one loves missy, no zucchini on my doorstep...
Is this because zucchini is easy to grow?
My kids love the stuff. I can get mine to eat the "weird" veggies, but not the "normal" ones...
will eat:
zucchini
yellow squash
asparagus
beets
brussel sprouts
etc, etc
won't eat:
canned peas
green beans
peas and carrots mixed
stuff like that
