Is your Superstore getting rid of plastic bags?
The one that I go to is, as of April 22nd, not offering any more plastic bags. You either need to bring a reusable cloth bag, reusable heavy duty plastic bag (that they were selling for a while) or the bins that they sell for less than $5 a piece.
We have three of the purple bins and a bunch of the heavy duty reusable plastic bags.
I figured you guys and gals might want to know.

I never heard anything, buy I refuse to shop there anymore because the cashiers are so appallingly rude. My husband stops on his way home on Fridays for snacks though, so I will warn him to bring a bag in.

Yeah I had to have DH bring home all of the plastic bags that he was taking his lunch to work in. It's not like we can't afford the cloth ones, but I'd rather use up the plastic ones that I paid for before we resort to buying the cloth ones.

I find the cashiers to be rude everywhere
I love shopping at the Superstore, they're my favourite. I have a Safeway by our house and they're so expensive!!!
I havent heard anything about the bags but I'm not surprised. I love their cloth bags and have bought tons of them as we use them for nearly everything!

I think most stores are making the switch. In Toronto, the municipality was trying to force grocers to stop using plastic bags, charging for plastic bags was the compromise reached. In my area, Sobey's and Zehr's are putting their own reusable bags on sale for the next week or so to help people accumulate enough before the charge-per-plastic bag comes in on May 1st.
I have tons of reusable bags but now I'm sad that I'll have to start buying bags to use for catbox cleanings. lol

I just got our Sobeys flyer and they are going to start charging for bags May 1. Not sure if it is just Ontario.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing them remove them all together. Perhaps it's just at our store that they're getting rid of them all together. Either that, or the woman who was overseeing the self-checkout area had her information wrong.
I don't think 5 cents is going to matter to people. Some people will pay anything for convenience.

I have not seen any stores here in Ga start charging, but I have picked up so many of the reusable bags for free, that is all I use. In the parking lot at my Publix, they have big signs that say "Dont forget your bags!" Everyday more and more people are using them exclusively. I LOVE IT!
