Your day, Thursday February 7th 2013
I don't believe I am writing this but the sun in shining once again.
We have been having 'un-Dutch-like' weather.
We start with rain/snow or the such like but within a few hours, it all changes and we get beautiful sunny (but cold) weather.
Long may it last.
Rachael, you asked about what I do at school.
On Tuesday I teach a cookery class to 6/7 year olds.
On Wednesday I teach English to 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds in a gifted child programme.
The schools where I work are in an older part of the city and have a large immigrant population, some of whom (still) don't speak Dutch. They very often use their children as interpreters.
The cooking lessons are a way to show children that it is possible to eat healthy food that tastes great without it costing a lot.
What we make with the kids, they eat during the lesson.
My co-ordinator once told me something that I have never forgotten. (For some of the kids) the meal/food that the kids eat with me will be the best meal that these kids get each week.
So I am always trying to mix fun together with good healthy food and different taste experiences.
It is ALWAYS challenging.
Anyhow, back to today.
Hubby is working from home today and therefore today I will be preparing my classes for next week while sitting across from him at our big desk in our office.
This evening we will be going to see the apartment that Fiori is moving into in 6 weeks (gulp).
Have a great day!

It's raining here so I won't be cleaning the last section of carpet on the first floor. I like to open the doors and turn the fans on so it dries faster. We are down a car so everyone is shifting schedules to be able to share the one. The little guys and I are still working on Valentine pictures so I can mail those out to the relatives next week. We will be taking it easy today.
