Frugal Friday 12/18
DH is off but has dental apt. DS2 is taking DGS to see his cousin who is shipping out to Iraq in a few days. I am a little worried because DS2 hasnt seen his bio family in about 6 mths (he is a foster). There are always issues when he does.
I need to iron clothes, sweep and mop and clean the bathroom.

~I am relaxing as much as possible today. DD and I are sick with colds. Ds inherited Dh's fantastic immune system. He got stuffed up earlier this week and had a light fever for about an hour. That's it. DH hasn't gotten it at all.
So my plan for today includes computer time, video games, sewing and drinking lots and lots of hot tea.
We're expecting overnight snow so I am doing a couple of things to prepare for a loss of power, JIC. I'm filling water jugs, getting the dishes and laundry caught up, charging everything that needs charging, keeping the house warm and setting out candles.
Hope everyone enjoys their day!~

I work from home and although today is only supposed to be a 4 hour day, I feel like getting it done so I will probably be at it all day.
I have also loaded the dishwasher and got rid of the few left overs there were. Made the bed and spent a good solid 3 hours at the desk working. Dinner will probably be soup. I have a few more quarts of tomatoes I canned and some other canned vegatables. Just really want some sort of meat to go in it and I am out of that.
Anyone know any place the sells sourdough starter? I really want to start making sourdough bread again but let mine die a few years ago.

I am running behind today. Ran to WM to get the stuff I forgot yesterday and then still forgot one thing. I need to wrap the rest of the gifts and do some cleaning. Tonight we are going to a friends house as its her birthday.

Today is grocery shopping day. I'm doing the grocery shopping challenge and for the week I committed to $120 for groceries. I'm planning on using even less this week. We had an unexpected expense this week and that set us back quite a bit. So, we are going to try and spend even less this week. (I'm going to cross post this part of my post in that thread.)
For the rest of the day it's time to start getting ready to have everyone home for two weeks. My husband has the day off, so we'll be running errands/shopping together. One child gets out of school early today so the three of us will likely do lunch out somewhere. (Yes, the money spent on lunch will count toward my grocery challenge total.)
I have done zero housework today -- and it shows already! And the kids aren't even home yet!!I plan on doing just the normal maintenance housework (dishes/counters/stovetop, bathroom mirrors/sink/toilet bowl, and picking up stuff off the floor).

Today I will be thinking, thinking of doing, and doing.
See how much time I've just saved by not itemizing.
Well, I'd better get on with it now.
Later, fv'ers....

Went to post office this morning to see if I needed more postage to send x-mas cards. Fortunately, I do not. Then stopped into a discount store to see if they still have the frosted glass x-mas ornaments I wanted. Luckily they did. Spent $2 for 24 ornaments. Not bad. Put down a pair of shoes I wanted and some purses. Kept telling myself to wait until the end of season sales which will be happening in January so that kept me going. Still need to dust and vacuum.
