Frugal Friday - June 11
Today is Diva's last day of third grade
This morning, I slept in some (6:30) and woke up to a hot cup of coffee made by the Old Man.
Today I have to:
~ bring Diva to her LAST DAY!!!
~ call the credit union about the car loan (don't beat me Greebo)
~ shower and re-dress for the day
~ be at the school before dismissal to take class pictures
~ bring Diva to a "You did it" lunch at the place of her choice (Wendy's)
~ knit and hopefully finish the hat I have frogged 4 times
~ cook dinner
~ laundry, laundry, laundry
Have a great Friday!

I'm watching my neighbor's daughter today. I have lots of errands to run and she is going with me. Afterwards I think I'll treat her to lunch. Then I have to iron and pickup the house.

Laundry and dishwasher already loaded and going. Need to take DS to football at 10, then run a few errands.
Plan to open my new sewing machine, watch the dvd that came with it, and begin my sewing journey! May go by the library to pick up a couple of books on sewing.
Have a great Friday!

Today I made a very conscious decision to pack lunch and not buy lunch. Its been a couple of months since I bought lunch and I had my lunch for today already prepared but I just don't want it. It would have been so easy to just spend the $5. But I decided to just suck it up and eat the lunch that I have.
I know not a big deal but just a very little "victory" of mind over matter.
And we're getting take out for dinner so I couldn't justify spending money on two meals today no matter how much I "want" to.

Going over to my Dad's (he's 75) to fill a prescription of his, cut his hair, see if he needs any cleaning done, and take back his movies to the library.
Doing a couple of loads of laundry on the homefront, here.
Taking the loaner car back to the shop and picking up my own car--at some point today.

My daughter and her husband arrive for a whirlwind 3 day visit today. This morning will be taken up by that.
This afternoon I'll be busy entering my books into Readerware, and possibly rug hooking. I might even get to read some books! I am sooo behind in my reading!

Today I also packed my lunch after eating out a couple of times for lunch this week - total waste of money.
Tonight I dropped off a hideous chandelier that I had replaced -took it to Good Will so at least I can make a tax deduction. But, of course, while at Good Will I took a look around. Ended up buying a bunch of baby clothes - for $1.50 each - but I bought a lot. What can I say? I have baby fever and have been waiting so long to be a mom and it's all out of my control. I feel like I want to do SOMETHING to prepare and to feel like it's really going to happen. (I'm now on an adoption waiting list - been 9 mos. after 2.5 years of fertility treatments - ugh!)
Also got some other stuff I didn't really need, but just felt like getting - baby scrapbook, some fun stamps for stamping (.99 for a whole bag of them!), some glow stick bracelets for my nieces when they come to visit in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday got a great deal on cat litter - 25 lb bag regularly $13, on sale for $10.50 and used a $1.50 off coupon - plus one of the bags was a bonus bag with five extra lbs. Also, I'm doing some home improvements - replacing my doors, but have gotten all the doors off of craigslist for really cheap - 1/2 to 1/3 of their regular price. Going to pick up a brand new oak entry door w/window for $40 tomorrow a.m. Now I'm looking for antique handles. Fun!
