Back to School Shopping
What has everyone done for Back to School shopping money this year?
I've been trying not to spend as much money but I don't want to buy clothes that we will not like or want to wear at the same time.
I just did a video review for ExpoTV.com and earned $10 and was entered to win $1,000 for Back to School shopping.
That extra money would be fab for some new clothes for everyone...
Anyone have any other tips?

I set aside $30/mo all year for school supplies. I have to pay for 4 kids. Including a graphing calculator,
I wasn't impressed, that was $100! But since our school fees for 4 are about $400/year, I can't complain. I know Catholic schools in the USA are pricey. If I don't use it all, whatever. Dh shakes his head but sees the sense in putting small amounts away then trying to come up with $400 in August along with fall clothes etc.

If it were public primary school, all we'd pay is whatever fieldtrips come up, no other fees. But I prefer the catholic school overall, so it's worth the $100 each.

I work spring/summer/early fall in a campground and I set aside one paycheck for back to school shopping each year. That's for clothes and shoes. I try to watch the sales for the supplies and we shopped clearance racks and sales for the clothes they got.

I save up all of our extra cash from May to July and then use that. I pooled together about $1400 and used $1000 of it on clothes, shoes, school fees, birthdays and a new niece arrival in September. After next month, the plan is for $100 per month into savings for next year. That takes into account any loss in OT on DH's end.
