Nothing surprising there. Sadly.
We live in a rural farming area. There is no corn this year, anywhere. The fields were just too wet to plant any this year. It's odd to see all the fields with nothing planted in them, maybe they will get soybeans in. In the 16 years we have lived here I have never seen this.
I read that quite a bit of the corn crop was planted, but the soybean crop will be very low this year. Our part of Iowa was hit hard by snows this winter and then rains this spring. I feel funny even saying that, as the last three years were drought years.
