DH and lights!!
I am taking a poll: how many lights do you have on at any one time in your house? I am home alone right now and I have one ONE light--the lamp in the room with me (it's 8:30 p.m., BTW). When DH comes home, he turns on nearly every light in the house!
I fought him last month and brought our bill down by TWENTY FIVE PERCENT over the previous December. I figured that we didn't need to pay the electric company's stockholders any more than was absolutely necessary!
We also talked about the fact that I like things darker than he does. I have astigmatism and my optometrist told me that people with my type of vision problems are very light sensitive. Maybe this is the reason I prefer it darker. I don't know.

I have on a night lite in the kitchen. And a lamp in the living room. I leave the kitchen one on all night, because dd4 walks in the dark.

If it was just me I would only have a light on where I am at....but... My grandchrildren and dil have to have every light I have on.... which really drives me buggy. She thinks 88.00 is just fine for an electric bill....... I don't

When I am home alone I have the kitchen light on and one light in the room where I am. But, since there are four other people in the house, there are usually an equal # of lights on. We have switched about half of our lights to the compact fluorescent for just that reason. At least they turn off the bathroom light when they are done!

I usually have the small light in the kitchen on, and then a lamp on if I'm on the computer. If Mike is on his computer, he'll have another light on too. I try to keep just the minimum on!

I try to keep as few on as possible. Dave and the kids are another story. I'm always running around after them to turn them off.

Depends on where everyone is, probably one light on per person. I do keep a nightlight on in the bathroom all night too.
My Dh is the opposite of yours Lori, he's the one who goes nutso if lights are left on when nobody is in the room. Dh is probably more frugal than I too.
