Challenge Yourself Challenge - Week 2
So, how did we all do this past week? I did well. I gave my story to someone to read for me to let me know if it totally sucks before I continue on. How'd you do?

I changed my challenge from making a porcelain doll to paying off our van so dh can retire in 20 months. Its a birthday surprise for him.
I was able last week to add to my van total making it now $182.00. That seems small but its only been a week. I also combined my change jar challenge and my kitchen cabinet account and made it all into one. I'll be adding more on Friday (payday).

I finished my test so now all I need to do is mail it off and then (cross my fingers) hopefully I'll pass and get my certification
I still am only on page three of my story, so if Ayla takes a nap I'll curl up in front of the open window to get my inspiration to write more. It feels so nice to be doing something with my time besides cleaning!
My goal is to get around 20 pages written this week.
Other smaller goals for this week:
Take ayla out during the day in the car, by myself (i have done this only once or twice!)
Start selling things on ebay

My challange this week is to completely finish all my projects. So I can go job hunting Next week! Wow, I may need more than just a week!
Amy are you writing children's stories? I did that a few years back, I just never sent it in to get published.

Great job, everyone! I'm so glad everyone is moving on those goals!
Elise, No, it's not a children's book, although I did that too, several years ago and never sent it around.

I didn't get back to my painting this week...sniffle...just didn't seem to be any time. We are however, moving toward our goal of home ownership! One step at a time!

I am bumping this up, just wondering how everyone is doing on their challenges?
I have taken 3 painting classes and finished a wooden lazy susan that I had started years ago and I have also painted some wooden blocks and antiqued them, put letters on them to spell Christmas, our last name and things like that, look really neat. I had a bunch of wooden blocks (not the little ones, maybe 4 inch square) and didn't want to just pitch them and I saw this idea in her store so thought why not? I am going to make some up for Christmas that spell Angel and have an angel painted on the last one. Lots of possibilities!!
Bad news about the class though is that she is closing her store the 1st of June and therefore no more classes. I am disappointed but it is the right thing for her at this time....she is recommending another teacher so hopefully I will be able to continue.

Thanks for the bump, Heather! I actually gave my story to someone to read to get their input because I was questioning whether or not to continue with it. She used to be in editing. She loved it and said that she couldn't wait to read it in hardcover! So, once the school year ends, I'm going to continue on. It's too hard right now to even find time to eat, much less write the book. How about everyone else?

between having that flu, catching this cold, and trying to keep up with housework and all...i just haven't had the time or energy to do any more work on my story.
After I get better I hope to start again though
