Thumbs up Shoes off at the door everyone pleeeeeeease!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is expected to do this when they enter my home, it really keeps my hardwood floors looking much nicer and cuts down on the dirt too. So what about your home?

I would LOVE to get my husband to start doing this..since our baby crawls around on the floor I hate to think what we're tracking in..not only that but our carpets get so run down looking and dirty when we walk with our shoes on.

Dh really needs to, because he works in a machine shop and is always tracking in sharp metal shavings. He's too stubborn to leave them outside, though: "My shoes'll be COOOOOOOLD, whine whine snivvel!"

Yes, but me. I am home all day and my feet hurt without shoes on, but I am the one who has to clean it and knows not to wear mud on them. LOL

We all automatically take our shoes off when we walk in. We don't make guest do it though.

DS and DH are expected to. I"m not. How is that for double standards???

Seriously, I have a reason....DH and DS wear shoes with treads. They are also very careless about stepping in mud, muck, and well, dh sometimes steps in other nasties when he walks the dog (I make him leave THAT pair of shoes outside on teh porch)

I, on the other hand, almost exclusively wear smooth soled shoes. They do not track in nearly the dirt.

Course it doesn't really matter much, the dog sheds so much and tracks so much dirt in that what's a little more, lol

We have always done this too!!!

We bought a new home in 2000, and my top grade carpet still looks new! And it is cream colored. Some people in the same neighborhood that have been here the same amout of time have carpets that look horrible! Almost look like they have lived there for 10 years instead of 1 1/2! Shoe dirt, spills and wear and tear!

    That is my comparison!

No shoes in my house either!! It is amazing what the dks and dh can drag in on their shoes!! I have carpet, tile floors and hardwood floors and it is hard enough keeping it all clean!!

We remove our shoes at the door. Or at least we're supposed to...getting 13 yo ds to cooperate is getting to be a problem. But I got new carpet last April, tan colored, and it still looks brand new so it definitely helps.

    Company is not required.
