Question Do you have friends who are frugal too?

Other than the friends you have on the net, do you have friends who are frugal?

Thankfully, yes. The gals who are in my meal exchange group are pretty frugal, too. When we get together we're always giving each other GDAs!

My best friend is learning, especially now that's she divorced. Several of the girls I work with are very frugal-- I get tips from them on occasion. We are always swapping coupons, used clothing for our kids and so forth.

    I work with 3 guys.

#1 is a total spendthrift. His family is in huge debt. They eat out a lot and money runs through them like water.

#2 is frugal. He shops sales, clips coupons (passes his extras to me) and saves for the future. All of their debt is good debt. We are very like-minded. Although I think I'm more extreme than he is.

#3 is newly married. #2 and I are trying hard to be his financial influence instead of #1

    nope...

everyone now and then someone is "inspired" by me but not enough to stick with it I suppose. I no longer try to convert anyone....

Well, not really...My cousin is starting to do some things I do, especially coupons and finding rapid sales for food, but she doesn't do it if we are not together....she is embarrassed and doesn't want to look cheap...

I did know a friend from high school, which I visited with when Francois was a baby 14 years ago and she was so poor and she gave me soooo many tips on frugality. I didn't even know about the *frugality word* but she had a wealth of tips. She didn't have a choice, being a mom alone with 2 babies.

I'd love to have a frugal friend close to me.

No....it does impress them, but not enough for them to take that trip....

A lot of my co-workers are frugal, not to the extent that I am....a few of them ask me how much I saved with coupons/store card this week...

I have several friends that are frugal. 1 is really frugal in a few ways but spends alot more on other things. For her it is a choice--save on x to be able to afford y.

I have another friend who is pregnant with baby #9 and has 2 in college. Being frugal is a way of life for this family. I get inspired alot from her.

I grew up in a frugal family so I get alot of support from them.
