    Default another freecycle rant

Missy wasn't it you who had someone who wanted you to deliver something to their house?

I have had a Little Tykes Turtle I have listed 3 times on free cycle. The first taker fell through. Fine I understand, they didn't think they could get here in a timely manner. The second person had vehicle troubles. I have held it and held it e mailed her 3 times with no response. Now I just posted that this is the last time I will offer this. It is going to the dump on Sun. You wouldn't believe how many takers I have now. I have asked in my post for them to e mail me and I would pick one. I have ppl wanting me to call the long distance one after I had given her my # so she could call me for directions. EXCUZE ME I'm not going to have this cost me $$$! Another just asked me to bring it to her work about an hour away from here. Has she seen the price of gas lately?! GEEZ ppl just want, want, want! I makes me so mad. I am giving this away. The least ppl could do is get it with in the FREE guide lines. WHOOO ok, I feel better now. Thanks.

I have had the same probs. I did take a bag of clothes to a girl once, only because I knew she was really in need of it. It's just amazing about some people.

Some people don't mind asking for any/everything do they Marcia? It's just nuts. I hope you get it given away, picked up and out of your hair.

How frustrating! People just don't appreciate a good offer, do they? They always want more. I hope you found someone to take it who appreciated it.

I'm the moderator of our local freecycle group, we're still new and haven't had problems yet...knock on wood...
Can you put it on the edge of your road and put a FREE sign on it? We used to do this with things, where we used to live and it worked quite well...

I live on a gravel road. The only cars that go by are our neighbors.

I can't believe they are asking for more!! Next time I would state in the email listing....NO I will not make long distance calls. You call me if you are interested. NO I will not transport the merchandise to you. You need to make arrangements to pick the item up. If it isn't picked up by such and such date then I will toss it in the trash.

That may sound rude, but it might cut down on the problem you are having. I just think some people expect more!

Some people have an incredible amount of nerve! Where we live, we just sit stuff out on the curb with a "free" sign, and it disappears within a day.

This is what I did with my turtle sandbox. It was gone so quickly. Sorry you had this trouble.
