Is a Costco membership worth it?
A friend of mine has asked if I wanted to go in on a membership to Costco with her. I've been at Sam's Club a few times ( with another friend, I don't have a membership). It was fun, but more of a drive than our local stores I frequent. I often buy store brand items if they are available, and don't usually buy huge bulk size items. How does Costco compare in price for things like milk, bread, eggs, meat, produce?
I might go visit it tomorrow with her, but just wondering if people really use their memberships on a regular basis. Thanks!

I resisted as long as I could...but dh really wanted one.
I get all of our meat there in bulk (large roasts and packs of chicken) probably half the price of a regular store. I just have to portion it myself.
milk is the same price as regular stores
and a lot of the time there are less expensive produce.
the cases of cheerios are $3 cheaper than other stores.
and cases of water are cheaper too.

We use ours often and it MORE than makes up for the membership cost. Produce is considerably cheaper there vs. the grocery stores, as well as frozen food (chicken, vegetables, etc.). We also get beans there MUCH cheaper than anywhere else here...some (not all) of the baking/cooking supplies are a great bargain, too.
