    Smile cake in a mug

    1 cake mix(any flavor)
1-3oz. pkg. pudding mix(flavor match cake)

Place in large bowl and whisk to blend well. This will make 4-4 1/2
    cups mix.
Place 1/2 cup mix into sandwich bags and tie closed. Label as "Cake MIX".
Continue making packets until all dry mix is used.

Next: make glaze packets.(one for each mug)

    1/3 cup powdered sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. flavoring,(nestle' quik,countrytime lemonade,orange
tang, french vanilla coffeemate)try to match cake.

Place in bags and tie closed. Label"Glaze".

SELECT LARGE MUGS(no gold or silver trim). Make sure it will hold
    1 1/2 cups water.

Place 1 bag cake mix and 1 bag glaze into each mug.
    Attach these directions:
Generously spray inside of mug with cooking spray. Empty contents of cake mix into cup. Add 1 egg white,1 Tbsp. oil, 1 Tbsp. water and mix carefully togather.
Microwave full power for 2 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix glaze contents with 1 1/2 tsp. water. When cake is done, pour over cake.

I made these last year for Christmas and they were a big hit! I used .50 Christmas mugs from the Dollar Store and included a scented coaster.

The coasters go something like this:

    For each coaster you need
    (2) 6" squares of print fabric
    (2) 4" squares of muslin
    (2) 4" squares of felt (any color)
a couple tablespoons of spice to scent it
I used a mixture of cinnamin, nutmeg and cloves

    1. Put down 1 square of print fabric, right side down.
    2. Center over that your felt then muslin squares.
    3. Put your spice mixture in the center of that.
    4. Cover with the other muslin, felt and print squares.
    5. Glue around the edges to hold together, leave some room so
you can trim edges with pinking shears.

I suppose you could add a bow or charm on one of the corners.

I made one of the "cup"cakes myself and it turned out very good! And when you set your warm mug on the coaster it activates the scent a little!

A basket of these would be very cute, or you could put your mug on top of the coaster and wrap with colored cellophane.

I saw that coaster idea in Family Fun magazine last year and it is sooooooooooooo cute! They also had a cake in a mug recipe (3 different kinds you could make).

    This is a great idea.

I have an upcoming "put something in a mug swap" in a little while at another board, and this might just be perfect.

Wow! I'm going to the Dollar Store tomorrow....easy, fast, inexpensive, and unique!

Add that little coaster thingie and you have a VERY nice gift to let someone know you remembered them for C'mas!

    Thanks for sharing!

what a really neat idea. I wish that I knew about this earlier today. I have a birthday to celebrate tomorrow, and I could have made one for him. It would have been a hit for sure! I will remember this for the future.

Glad this was bumped!!!! My boys would love to do this. Make their own personalized cake. ...... The neat part is I already have BIG personalized mugs put up for them for Christmas. One with frogs and one with dolphins.
