Wink GG Club - July 2006 Goals

Hope none of y'all mind me jumping the gun and starting this thread early - Im still pumped from achieving part of my June goals and want to continue on to see if I can get everything achieved!

Lets try adding one more thing that wasnt on last months list - see if we can get more accomplished.

    My July 2006 Goals are:

    # 1 - Exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week of 30 mins/session. Going to try this again - maybe I'll get it started this time round.

    # 2 - Read minimum one paperback - for pleasure vs watching tv or playin on the net all the time

    # 3 - Lower my credit card debt by at least $1075. Hey I did it last month, lets see if I can keep it up and SQUASH that debt out completely!

    # 4 - Declutter and organize at least ONE of the following disaster areas in my house: (a) bedroom - finish the clothes project AND purge through all my clothes (b) hallway (c) office area

    # 5 - To see if I can make it to 15 NO SPEND DAYS

    Hi everyone!

I've been lurking here for a few days, and this is my first post.

Here are my goals for the month:

    1) No eating out in July! Plan each meal and stick to my grocery list.

    2) Go walking with my little guy 3x a week.

    3) Organize my kitchen cupboards.

    4) Organize and itemize my pantry; make a list of what items we need and start looking for deals.

    My list...

    ~ baby quilts
    ~ quilt-as-you-go quilt
    ~ string quilt
~ trip around the world quilt
~ finish floral rug (almos there!)
    ~ hollyhock rug
    ~ strawberry rug
    ~ cross-stitch Christmas ornaments
    ~ "Friends" cross-stitch
    ~ bell pull
    ~ declutter art studio
~ 40-60 minutes of exercise per day
    ~ artist's date weekly
~ affirmations and afternoon tea together
    ~ mortgage burning BBQ mid-July
~ take dd#1 and 2 out separately for treats
~ reading: cut down on this, but finish..."living more with less", "free parking", and "simple secrets for a beautiful home".
~ continue working through "Walking in this world".
~ I want to create a prayer basket to put a bunch of spiritual related things in to cart with me between floors of the house. I'm thinking Bible, journal, pen, kleenex, Christian books and notepaper, maybe an Bible dictionary or something for study, my CD player and some Christian CDs. That way I can go to the coolest place in the house and concentrate better on what I'm doing.

I might try to fit in a few walks to the Farmer's market and possibly a few drives to the Valley to the u-picks. We'll see how dh feels about going with me. I won't go alone.

    Here's my update:

I've sewn the binding together for the last pink baby quilt. Just haven't sewn it onto the quilt yet!

    I finished the floral rug.

The strawberry rug has become a non-issue. Mom wants something else for a gift now.

I've finished 4 out of 6 Christmas ornaments. Hope to do another one this week.

Managed to get the cording sewn around the edge of the bellpull. Next I need to makes some small tassels and cording to hang it from.

I started my art studio declutter, but am not totally finished. I can at least get in the room, which is a great bonus!

I had so many artist's dates last week I'm needing a breather this week! DD#1 and SIL took me out to McD's to eat yesterday. I haven't been there in years. It was payback for driving them around car shopping.

I am doing better at fitting in my afternoon tea. Still not daily though.

We decided to celebrate the end of the mortgage when the papers actually came, and we're not burning the mortgage. Can't burn legal documents for seven years here. Oh well. I will imagine the mortgage going up in smoke and enjoy the extra money in my bank account.

I've done really well taking dd#1 and #2 out for treats. We seem to have developed a Dutch treat approach. We go out and pay for ourselves. Another thing we've done is make ice-cream cakes or buy cheesecake to eat in the house as a treat. Noone is complaining about those I've noticed! Except that we don't have enough of them.

I finished reading "Free Parking" and "Simple Secrets for a Beautiful Home". I renewed "Living More With Less". I am slow finishing it as most of it is a rehash, but I do want to finish. There are interesting quotes from people who have visited North America from other parts of the world. A whole different perspective. I continue working through "Walking in This World".

I did create a prayer basket and it's great to haul around the house with me. It's currently in the basement den, where it's cool enough to do devotions, etc.

I did get to the Farmer's Market and the u-picks in the Valley. Mega-bucks, but there you go. Dh went with me.
